7 Ancient wonders of the world

The Seven Wonders of the World are a list of the most remarkable man-made constructions of ancient times. The original list, compiled by Antipater of Sidon, a poet and writer in the 2nd century BCE, included the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, and the Lighthouse at Alexandria. These structures were considered to be the most impressive and awe-inspiring examples of human achievement in the ancient world.




  1. The Great Pyramid of Giza is located in Egypt, near the modern-day city of Cairo.

  2. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were located in the ancient city of Babylon, in what is now Iraq.

  3. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus was located in the ancient city of Ephesus, in what is now Turkey.

  4. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was located in the ancient city of Halicarnassus, in what is now Turkey.

  5. The Colossus of Rhodes was located on the island of Rhodes, in what is now Greece.

  6. The Statue of Zeus at Olympia was located in the ancient city of Olympia, in what is now Greece.

  7. The Lighthouse at Alexandria was located in the ancient city of Alexandria, in Egypt.





Some of the Seven Wonders of the World are open to the public and can be visited, while others no longer exist or have been destroyed.

  1. The Great Pyramid of Giza is open to the public and can be visited as a tourist destination in Egypt.

  2. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon no longer exist and nothing remains of them today.

  3. The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus is open to the public and can be visited as a tourist destination in Turkey.

  4. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus no longer exists and nothing remains of it today.

  5. The Colossus of Rhodes no longer exists and nothing remains of it today.

  6. The Statue of Zeus at Olympia no longer exists and nothing remains of it today.

  7. The Lighthouse at Alexandria no longer exists and nothing remains of it today.

It's worth noting that there are some remains of these ancient structures that can be found in museums around the world, such as the British Museum in London, the Louvre in Paris, the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, and the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
