What is Invisalign?

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign’s is an alternative to braces. Invisalign is used in orthodontic treatment for straightening of crowded and crooked teeth. Invisalign is a series of transparent, removable aligners — or plastic trays.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign aligners are made using 3D computer imaging technology and have been proven to be safe and efficient for straightening teeth and improving your oral health. Every couple of weeks, you will be given a new set of aligners to ensure progress is always being made. You will see your teeth move gradually week by week, until they have straightened to their final positions. You will have to come in for visits to the dental office to see if the treatment is working for you or not and to get a new set of aligners

How long does Invisalign take to work?

The average course of the treatment is usually about 12 to 18 months in adults and can take a bit longer in teens, but it actually varies from patient to patient, depending upon the degree of misalignment of teeth and is best predicted by your doctor at the time of treatment planning.

Does Invisalign actually work?

Invisalign’s takes longer than braces to work because the tray system naturally progresses at a slower rate than the braces one. Invisalign can treat minor to major problems but only when given to the right candidate. Invisalign requires much more compliance and cooperation because a patient can take the trays out whenever they want. Some patients forget to wear their trays or choose not to wear them for hours every day. Invisalign is most effective when it is worn for more than twenty-three hours every day. Patients that wear their aligners for twenty-two or fewer hours every day will not only see slower results, they may see no results at all. Enough time out of the trays during the day can undo any of the moving or shifting that the teeth have done while the aligners are worn.

How do you clean your Invisalign aligners?

To make sure your oral hygiene remains up to the mark, the aligners and teeth should be cleaned thoroughly every night and morning ritually. At least once a day soak your aligners either in a denture cleaner or in Invisalign’s cleaning crystals. Once they are done soaking, use an extra toothbrush (not one you brush your teeth with it) to brush off any remaining food particle or plaque build up. Then simply rinse them before slipping them back into your mouth, but not before brushing and flossing your teeth too.

How do you spell Invisalign?

Often misspelled as Invisionlineinvasiling or invisiling, the correct spelling is Invisalign — a contraction of Invisible Aligners,
