What Can ClearCorrect Do for You?
/What Is ClearCorrect?
With so many clear aligners on the market, it’s difficult to identify which is right for you. ClearCorrect is a simple system that uses a series of custom-made trays, or aligners, to move teeth gradually. The goal is to correct teeth spacing and alignment to give you a dazzling smile.
The trays involved with this system are clear and removable. To ensure each one fits you perfectly, we will take photographs and impressions of your teeth. Your treatment plan will provide, in detail, the steady realignment of your teeth to move them from where they are now to where they need to be.
Your Involvement
Included with the plan is a digital representation of your mouth showing the alignment of your teeth both before and after treatment. You can view this plan to understand what your smile will ultimately look like. Your aligners are then made using digital mapping and technical precision for the most customized fit possible.
With this system, you stay actively involved every step of the way. If at any time you have questions or concerns, we’re here and happy to help.
The Process Details
ClearCorrect allows you to go through a series of different phases, during each of which you will wear a new set of aligners. Each aligner must be worn about 22 hours a day, including while you sleep. You can remove your trays when you are:
Drinking
Eating
Brushing
Rinsing
Flossing
Rapid Results
Your teeth will gradually move with each aligner, and as a result, you’ll be able to visibly track your progress. In addition, you’ll have regularly scheduled check-ups with our office to ensure your progress is on track.
Treatment times vary for each patient and can be between several months and two years. Your exact plan, and the length of time you need to wear aligners, will depend upon your personal situation. At the end of treatment, your smile will be even and straight and reflect the newfound confidence you have.
Who Is This Right For?
We evaluate each patient on a per case basis. This treatment is especially effective for patients in their late teens and up to middle age. However, because we assess patients individually, children and even elderly people are not necessarily excluded. In addition, some of the conditions we specifically treat with aligners are listed below.
Overbite
This occurs when the top teeth overlap the bottom. While this is common in most people, it becomes a problem when the top teeth are too far from the bottom, known as a severe case. The end results are jaw discomfort, which can lead to headaches, and disproportionate tooth wear.
Overcrowded Mouth
The mouth becomes overcrowded when the jaw is too small to accommodate all permanent teeth. As a result, teeth still grow but start to overlap, turn to the side, or push through the front or back of the mouth. This can make a patient feel self-conscious and also impede oral hygiene techniques. As a result, bacteria can grow between teeth and cause gum disease or dental decay.
With overcrowding, patients tend to grind their teeth and eventually diminish the integrity of the jaw. This, too, can cause headaches and even chipped teeth.
Gaps Between Teeth
Gaps can be nothing more than the product of genetics, but that doesn’t mean a patient is comfortable with them. In fact, the spacing between your teeth can be impactful in different ways. Eating might be tricky because food can get stuck; similarly, you may feel the need to hide your smile with your hand so others don’t see your imperfections.
Crossbite
In a crossbite, some lower teeth cover some upper teeth. This condition comes with the potential for two grave risks. Over time, teeth can become chipped or gums can start to recede and increase your risk of developing gum disease. The goal here is to reposition those teeth that are misaligned and allow for a more appropriate fit.
Open Bite
A patient has an open bite when a gap remains between upper and lower teeth after the jaw is closed. This can negatively impact chewing and speech. Once again, the goal of treatment is to move teeth and promote normal mouth functioning.
Benefits of Clear Aligners
When people think of aligners, one of the first things that accompany this image is being able to remove them. We consider this a benefit over more traditional braces because it allows for improved hygiene practices. Unlike braces, you don’t eat or drink with your aligners, so there’s no risk of debris getting into them. You can also fully brush the entire surface of your tooth for an overall cleaner mouth.
Clear Design
We also have to draw attention to the clear design. You don’t need to worry about standing out socially, being ridiculed for choosing an orthodontic appliance in adulthood or bringing undue attention to your teeth in photos. In other words, your daily routine will not be impacted by ClearCorrect.
Predictable Results
Because of the electronic imaging we do, which provides a step-by-step treatment plan and assists with the design of your aligners, you can rely on the intended outcome of your treatment. This eliminates any guesswork with your therapy so you know exactly what to expect.
Easy Maintenance
The aligners are made of BPA-free plastic to ensure complete safety. Owed to the plastic design, ClearCorrect trays can be easily and conveniently cleaned with soap and water. This helps keeps your mouth free of unwanted bacteria.
Natural Movement
While braces adhere to teeth with bonding adhesive, aligners mold to the precise shape of your teeth. Every contour and curve are accounted for thanks to exact computer imaging. This helps your teeth move and realign in the most natural way possible.
ClearCorrect is specifically designed to apply pressure to your teeth in a very organic way. The force that’s used to move them is distributed evenly to minimize any potential for cracking or chipping. Metal braces push and pull in a more mechanical way that is also more strenuous.
More Comfortable
Each aligner is flat and follows the contours of your teeth in a very precise way. In turn, you’re not exposed to sharp or jagged edges that can cause cuts or bruises in or near your mouth.
It’s also important to note that trays are a uniform piece of plastic. This eliminates the possibility of any protruding pieces, including wires and connectors. You don’t need to worry about any metal poking into your gums or the insides of your cheeks with these aligners.
Safe for Sports
These aligners are perfectly safe to use during sporting and workout activities. You don’t need to worry about removing them because, again, they fit so snugly to the teeth.
Comparison With Invisalign
In comparing ClearCorrect with Invisalign, you might immediately notice the former is made of thinner and lighter plastic. This helps make them all but invisible while you wear them, and it also makes cleaning and maintenance a breeze. But don’t worry – the thin material is durable and will still improve your pearly whites for a more confident smile.
ClearCorrect is also resistant to clouding. With each tray, you’ll enjoy a clear appearance that hardly alerts anyone to the fact you’re undergoing treatment. You won’t have to worry about what others think, whether you’re going to school or speaking in a meeting.
Adult Patients
We know that you can choose to improve your smile at any age. As technology has advanced and given way to clear aligners, we’ve seen an increase in the number of adult patients choosing to embrace this treatment. Where braces – and, subsequently, teeth movement – were once associated with only school-aged children and pre-teens, people of all ages now choose to wear orthodontic appliances.
We attribute this to the discretion afforded by clear aligners. They don’t draw immediate attention to the mouth, they deliver rapid results, and they can be conveniently washed. In short, these aligners meet the needs of adult lifestyles.
Young Patients
This isn’t to say that younger patients don’t benefit as well. Just the opposite: clear aligners help deter the teasing for which school kids are so notorious. With the pressures of doing well in school, managing relationships, and balancing extracurricular activities with parent expectations, kids don’t need any added stress.
Clear aligners give kids the oral treatment they need without singling them out. Because they are clear, the aligners will hardly be visible in school pictures, team photos, or snapshots used for texting and social media.
The Confidence Factor
It is no small thing to have confidence in yourself, your appearance, and your abilities. However, if you lack it in one area, you lack it in all. This means that dissatisfaction with your appearance can make itself known in other areas of your life, too.
Feeling embarrassed by or displeased with your smile can be especially difficult to overcome. The mouth is a central part of human life; it’s on display when we talk, laugh, frown, eat, and – of course – smile. You need to be happy with the appearance of your teeth.
Life Without Confidence
When you lack confidence, it plainly shows. Your shoulders slump, your face is closed, and, as we said earlier, you tend to cover your mouth with your hands. This sends the message that you don’t believe in yourself, which in turn opens you up to unhealthy relationships and a lapse in quality of life.
Without knowing it, any unhappiness you feel with your teeth can impact how you interact with others. But you can overcome all this negativity with a simple and effective treatment: ClearConnect.
